Low-ish fat Strawberry chocolate torte.
I Just recently when over to a dear friends house for supper. Of course I am bringing something. There is no flour in this so it is good for people that have an aversion to that kind of thing. It is low fat but super high sugar..
Torte,
The Hardware
Double boiler
Wisk
9 inch cake pan
The Software
2 C of chocolate chips
6 oz of fat free strawberry yogurt
1 C of granola(no raisins)
1 C egg whites
3 tsp of 1/2 and 1/2 cream
2 tbsp of lemon juice
1/4 c of powder sugar
The Application
Preheat oven to 350. Spray pan with cooking spray.
Reserve 1/2 c of the chocolate for the glaze, place the rest into the double boiler with the yogurt and melt. When the mixture is totally liquid add the granola and then the eggs, mix till combine and pour into the cake pan. Pop into the oven and set timer for 20 min. It is cooked when the sides are taller and the middle is firm. (if the middle has risen too the torte has been over baked) the center will be shiny.
Cool for 1 hour. Then invert onto a plate and it should pop right out. Back to the double boiler. Place the remaining chocolate in along with the cream. wisk the mixture till smooth and then take off the heat for about 30 seconds and pour ontop of the tort, and spread with a spoon. Cool in fridge till hard.
In a small bowl mix powder sugar and lemon juice and mix till combine, pace into a pastry bag and decorate the torte in the Atari symbol or any other way you feel.
I have taken to the habit of reading the cooking mags at work and then photocopying the recipes that I like out of them. It feels wrong, but I totally don't want to pay for a mag that has one recipe that I want to try, Besides I pay for the photo copy so that makes it ok right?
